SECUREDESK-Store is a unique service that allows you to back up and restore all data, files and emails held on your computers. No more back up tapes. No more tape drives. Just a secure, fast and automated system that guarantees you 24/7 access to the data vital for your organisation.

The Online Backup service automatically encrypts and sends your data over the internet to our secure data centres throughout the day and night. You can retrieve any individual files or restore the entire system, whatever the problem. If your server is down, you can switch to your back up files instantly, allowing all your employees to continue working without interruption. Unlike other back up systems, you can also send and receive new email while you fix your server.

What does our Online Backup service offer?

For a fixed monthly fee, that starts at just £30 a month for 10GB, our service has a range of benefits that allow your business or organisation to:

• Securely encrypt and back up all your files, databases and emails to our secure off site servers
• Back up all your data over the internet throughout the day and night
• Have instant access to your critical databases and documents, including Microsoft Office, Acrobat and jpg files directly over the internet
• Gain immediate access to new email if your Exchange Server is unavailable
• Option to recover data from other applications such as Sage, MySQL and Oracle as well as being able to access old email and calendar online.

How it Works

By installing a small client program onto your Server and or your PC's, at regular intervals either Daily or at multile times during the day, all the changes made to the data since the last backup are transferred securely over the Internet in an encypted format to our Primary Data Centre. Your data is then mirrored out to our Secondary Datacentre to provide enhanced recovery integrity.

The Initial Backup

If the amount of Data to be backed up is large (typically over 40GB) and would therefore take many days to create an initial copy over the internet, the first backup would be completed by supplying you with an external hard disk drive on to which is created the initial encrypted backup. This is then shipped to our Primary Data Centre to create an initial copy of your data on our Servers. From this point data changes will be added in the normal way by the daily change increments being transmitted securely over the Internet.

Local backup

To further enhance the integrity of recovery potential, there is also the option to simultaneously create a local backup copy onto any available drive on the network or an external NAS or USB hard drive of the last backup transferred to the Data Centre, thereby retaining a local copy of the latest data if it where required to do a complete server restore. If you don't use a local copy and a full server recovery was required, we would transferred a complete backup from the data centre onto an external hard drive and courier it to you.

The Backup Rentension Policy

We retain and make available all backed up data for these periods

- all backups taken over the preceding 24 hours

- last backup per day taken over the preceding week

- last backup per week taken over the preceding 4 weeks

- last backup per month taken over preceding 12 months.
